Well it certainly has been quite a long absence since I posted on here, and for that I do apologize, I had to deal with some professional problems as well as the Holidays, but here we are, in 2011 and things are definitely going to be interesting this year for The Dallas Cowboys.
To very, very briefly recap the final weeks of the 2010 season:
Week 12 - New Orleans (30) @ Dallas Cowboys (27)
If not for a late, Roy Williams fumble, this Thanksgiving game would have been a victory... oh well.
Week 13 - Dallas (38) @ Indianapolis (35)
I don't know how, but Dallas always seems to win the match-up against Indy, this was no different.
Week 14 - Philly (30) @ Dallas (27)
It was close and the defense lost this one in the final minutes and allowed Desean Jackson to score the final touchdown which gave Philly the lead. Ugh.
Week 15 - Washington (30) @ Dallas (33)
This was closer than it should have been, since Rex Grossman was the Redskins' qb and not McNabb, but Dallas pulled ahead and remained victorious.
Week 16 - Dallas (26) @ Arizona (27)
Another game that should have been a 'W' for Dallas. This one can be easily be blamed on David Buehler missing an extra point which would have at least gave Dallas a shot in overtime.
Week 17 - Dallas (14) @ Philly (13)
With Kitna out and the team being led by Steven McGee, it didn't seem that we would win this match-up, but McGee went down and scored the winning touchdown in the final minute.
Following the end of the season, it was time for Jerry Jones to let us know if Jason Garrett would be head coach or if someone new would be stepping into that position. Well, just yesterday (01/06/11) Jason Garrett was indeed named Wade Phillips successor and the first former Cowboys' player to be named Cowboys' head coach.
I believe Jason Garrett will be a much needed improvement. His philosophy of coaching is strict but not overbearing and I think he will make some much needed changes to the staff as well as the players. This team could be great and there are some great players that will be around next year... the small window of opportunity to win championships is closing and hopefully Garrett will help keep that window open a bit longer.
I will do my best to keep this blog updated as Jason Garrett begins making his changes, and I may update a bit throughout the playoffs as well. Until then, peace!
